Our People
Artorius is a small business, but it's populated by people with lots of experience across a broad range of fields. Nothing matters more to us than looking after clients, in every way in which we interact.
- Management Committee
- The Board
- Advisory Council & Specialist Adviser
- Client Team
- Investment Team
- Operations Team
- Finance Team
Our Management Committee is responsible for the practical day-to-day running of the business. We are proud to have a diverse and highly experienced leadership team that is committed to delivering an excellent client experience.
In advising our clients we believe that a framework of family governance is essential – and this is no different for Artorius. Corporate Governance is no less important for a small company than for a large one. Our non-executive directors sit on the board of Artorius Wealth Ltd and therefore have oversight over the whole Artorius group of companies. They all have extensive experience at senior levels in great businesses, large and small. We expect them to challenge us. And they do.
We are truly fortunate in the strength of our network, reflected in our Advisory Council and Specialist Adviser, they represent a rich resource of intelligence and experience. We are proud to be associated with – and supported by – people of this calibre.
Siobhan Bailey
Chief of Staff
My role as a Chief of Staff at Artorius allows me to engage with everyone in the team. I love the fact that I get to work across all areas of the business supporting the board and the management team by engaging with finance, operations the investment team and of course our client partners. I thoroughly enjoy having a complete overview of the business.
Before joining Artorius I took some time out to raise my family and prior to that I spent 12 years at Credit Suisse in a variety of roles across the Investment Bank, Asset Management and Private Banking.
Away from work my time is spent looking after my four children or helping out in their school where I volunteer as a School Governor.
Ian Bennett
Group Finance Director
I am the money man that controls and plans the finances, as well as supporting the strategic direction of the group. I joined Artorius in 2017 from Deutsche Bank, where I was both the CFO of the UK Asset Management and Global Head of Strategic Planning & Performance Reporting for Asset Management (DWS). Previously I was the Global Finance Director for Deutsche Asset & Wealth Management CFO office, following progression from CFO of both UK Private Wealth Management & Tilney Group. I have extensive experience of building businesses through organic growth and acquisitions from 15 years at Deutsche Bank and Tilney Group. Some of my key achievements include the separation and listing of DWS, merger & subsequent separation of Deutsche Asset & Wealth global division, launch of a UK ultra-high net wealth business, MBO and sale of Tilney, as well as completing 5 transformational acquisitions through some incredibly demanding times.
I qualified as a chartered accountant with a mid-tier Shropshire & Mid Wales firm Whittingham Riddell that specialised in owner managed businesses, and where my father had clocked up an amazing 50+ years of service. The opportunity to join Artorius has provided me an opportunity to complete a full circle back to working with entrepreneurs and successful families.
Away from planning the finances, I am a passionate football fan – I coach a junior grassroots football team, I have been a season ticket holder at Everton FC since university, and still get the boots on. At home I have two young children that love to talk, bake and cycle.
Jane Fowke
Head of Wealth Planning
I am a Chartered Financial Planner with extensive experience of working with High Net Worth and Ultra High Net Worth clients. I thrive on building meaningful and collaborative relationships with our clients; creating an environment where clients can explore, and sometimes discover, their financial needs and priorities. With more grey hair than I would like, my experience of working with both UK resident and domiciled clients and UK resident non-domiciled clients have given me a rich resource of expertise to draw from when considering the appropriate strategies to enable clients to achieve their financial goals.
Before joining Artorius, I have worked within the Strategic Tax Team at HSBC Private Bank, in the Ultra High Net Worth team at Barclays Wealth and most recently as a Senior Wealth Planner at SG Kleinwort Hambros.
Outside of work, I share my love of sport and my enjoyment for craft gins with my extended family. I am very much hoping that the two hobbies balance each other out.

Gerard Lane
Chief Investment Officer
I am the Chief Investment Officer and lead a team of seasoned, some suggest weathered, investment professionals to select investments and shape portfolios to meet the needs of the client here at Artorius. Having started investing at the British Coal Pension fund, where on day one it was emphasised that ‘it’s the clients’ money’, a mantra that forms a foundation of my investment philosophy; through a career that includes UBS and Aviva as an investment strategist.
With the benefit of experiencing working with a variety of talented people in the industry, I am still learning and being challenged by the constant change in market conditions and economic backdrop. The joy of the job is not just the people we meet, but also the knowing that each week will bring a new intellectual challenge in the ever moving jigsaw of investment management. These jigsaw pieces may include strands from politics, accountancy and psychology, so is investment the last liberal art?
Over my career I have developed an elegant, and to date successful, stock selection strategy that complements the more free-flowing analytical framework for thinking about markets and political events.
Away from work, I provide a taxi service to the family, where sport and music feature highly. I assist at a local food bank and community development project in the North West of England.
Paddy Lewis
Chief Executive Officer
I am very lucky to be leading a team of extremely talented, experienced individuals with a common vision of providing a fresh perspective to our clients and their families.
Achieving the right investment outcome over the long term is what drives Artorius. One of the key ingredients is meticulous financial planning which is at the heart of everything we do. I firmly believe that understanding what clients want to achieve across all aspects of their lives is the bedrock of good investment advice.
I have spent my whole career in wealth management, half in the North East and half in London, working for private clients. I love helping people navigate the financial complexities they face across generations and really understanding what it is all for. Developing strong, long lasting relationships and solving problems is what I enjoy most.
Before joining Artorius I spent 18 months as a partner at Sionic, a global financial services consulting firm, prior to which I spent 15 years in several senior roles at UBS Wealth Management and before that at Laing & Cruickshank, Merrill Lynch and Wise Speke.
Outside of work my wife and I love spending time with our grown up children, one in London and one in Singapore, when we can. Beyond family my obsession is sailing and particularly racing 505 dinghies, which takes us to some wonderful locations around the world.
I am a chartered member of the Institute for Securities & Investment.

Tina Winder
Group Compliance Officer
I have the fun job of ensuring that the business operates in compliance with the myriad of regulations that apply to it. This can take many forms, such as analysing regulatory papers and their impact, preparing procedures, training staff, monitoring the firm’s compliance day to day and speaking with clients. I enjoy the ethos of the business, which puts clients first and allows the spirit of the regulations to be complied with. This leads to the best results for both clients and the firm.
I joined from Tilney where I was Deputy Head of Compliance having previously held senior compliance positions in the wealth management businesses of accounting firms Baker Tilly & BDO. I started my career at the Bank of England, having also spent time at Lehman Brothers and Capita.
I’m a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment and a member of its Compliance Forum Committee. As part of my committee work, I help organise and deliver training to fellow compliance professionals. This provides great opportunities to network and benchmark best practice.
Away from the office, I enjoy living in the Kent countryside and spending time with my family, particularly my two lively young grandchildren. For fun, I love travelling (everyone thinks I have too many holidays) and live music of all kinds and scale, whether it’s sitting in a pub listening to a band, an orchestra in a concert hall or standing in a field at a festival. I play the ukulele (badly).

Esa Akhtar
Client Manager Associate
I joined Artorius as a graduate trainee straight from Manchester Metropolitan University with a Economics and Finance degree. This degree contained units like financial accounting, financial decision making, financial planning for individuals and the obvious micro and macro economic units. This will help when it comes to decision making as I have good knowledge when it comes with the economic aspect a long with the obvious financial side.
I believe my specialities is having good communication a long with producing reports with a high standard. This was evident in the assignments I had to complete when it came to my degree, which on most of them I received the highest grade. I also believe I have valuable IT skills and Microsoft skills, which was tested in the last two years of my degree as the pandemic had all students learning online and that did not immobilise me in any way. This can also be down to me and most of the students being technology natives.
Before Artorius I only worked in retail while I was studying at university, which helped me understand different customers and build my communication skills up. This also allowed me to work faster and to learn to overcome hurdles on the way with different workloads.
Outside of work I like to stay fit at my local boxing gym and also coach in the sessions for the kids when I have free time as they are the future of the sport. I also have a huge interest in football, especially my club Manchester United.
Elizabeth Asomaning-Bimpong
Client Manager
I recently joined Artorius in October 2022 as a client manager based in the London Office. I have worked in the Financial services industry since leaving University in 2014, with my most recent role being a Paraplanner at Evelyn Partners where I achieved my CII Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning.
I have a keen interest in helping clients fulfil their financial goals and working at Artorius alongside many talented individuals will help me grow within the industry. I believe my current role alongside studying, will help me to reach my goal of becoming a Chartered Financial Planner.
When I am not working, I love to travel and aim to experience a few new countries every year. Also, being a self-proclaimed Foodie I try to stay active by training in the gym regularly. Life is about balance after all.
Ben Barnaby

I found my passion early on in my career for working with individuals and their families to create bespoke multi-generational wealth plans and investment solutions. I thrive on building strong relationships by understanding my client’s financial needs, priorities and genuinely considering what is important for them and their family. I feel privileged to act as a trusted advisor to my clients.
I have spent fourteen years working in financial services initially in the North East for HSBC Bank, Barclays Wealth and then latterly in the North West for Coutts & Co.
I am a Chartered Financial Planner and Fellow of The Personal Finance Society. I am also a Chartered Wealth Manager with the Chartered Institute for securities and Investment.

James Barrie
Client Partner
I’m a Client Partner in London and specialise in providing oversight to clients of significant size and complexity. In this role, I work closely with families to develop and implement a framework not only for investing efficiently (through proactive insight and reporting), but also for greater communication across the family and succession planning (including philanthropy).
Before moving back to London in 2017, I joined Artorius in the Manchester office shortly after the firm was founded. During my time in Manchester, I worked closely with the Investment Team and obtained the IMC and CFA qualifications. Outside of work, my interests include old cars and all things sport.
Steve Brandreth
Client Partner
After 16 years at Aviva, including a very educational period in London’s West End, I made a decision to move away from dealing with intermediaries to advising clients directly.
During the 16 years building the Midlands business at Coutts, I advised clients across the UK on all financial matters, whether on investment strategy, debt, cashflow management and succession planning.
Level 6 qualified, I’m not only committed to helping clients to meet all of their financial aims, but take particular interest in using 30 plus years of experience to provide constant piece of mind for successive generations.
Jonathan Brown
Senior Adviser
I embarked on a career in wealth management pre ‘Big Bang’ in early 1986 and have evolved by working for British, American and Swiss organisations in the ensuing 36+ years.
Throughout my career I have enjoyed developing multi-generational, trusted partnerships with entrepreneurs and their families, working together to navigate an increasingly complex and volatile world. I have always placed significant value on a collaborative team approach, drawing on the right skill sets to ensure we deliver the best possible outcomes to our clients.
I have been a portfolio manager, asset gatherer, financial planner and business leader. Starting out at Wise Speke stockbrokers, the bulk of my career has been at international banks, Merrill Lynch and UBS where I built successful regional wealth management businesses from scratch with Paddy Lewis. Over the last decade, up to September 2022, I was a Managing Director running the UBS UK Regional business, which we grew to become a key segment for the UK location.
My wife, Julia and I live in Northumberland and have three children, now forging their own careers. I am a keen, yet unremarkable sportsman and can often be found searching for a golf ball, untangling fishing line or righting a capsized dinghy.
A graduate in Law and Chartered Fellow of the Institute for Securities and Investment, I have held a number of charity trusteeships over the years.
Ross Brown
Client Partner
I am proud to have been part of the Artorius family since the beginning, initially working to build our proposition and providing wealth planning services to our clients and latterly as a Client Partner. As a self-confessed technical nerd, something that has evolved from previous client facing and technical roles both in banking and wealth management as well as a clear passion for detail, working at Artorius provides an intellectual bias with a service proposition that means we have all the tools to deliver for any client requirement whilst being a challenging and exciting place to work. I am a huge advocate of ‘listen, then listen some more’, and I pride myself on delivering exactly what our clients ask us for, whether that be complex areas of planning or focussing on ‘getting the basics’ right. I maintain a keen interest in tax efficient investments and general investment structuring, including non-domiciled investors. I am a Chartered Financial Planner, and Fellow of The Personal Finance Society.
Outside of work, I devote all my spare time to my two young children and wife, squeezing in a keen interest in motorsport and Formula One where they allow.
Emmanuella Chukwu
Client Manager Associate
I am a recent graduate from the University of Manchester, having received my undergraduate degree in Economics. Through my degree, I have tackled many aspects of financial management, and gained various analytical and technical skills that will aid my growth and profession in the financial sector. With my understanding of micro- and macro- economic analysis, studying trends of individual and business decisions, I will be a great aid to clients in wealth management.
I have had the opportunity to take part of a research internship with an asset management company, and be a brand ambassador for a private bank in which I gained a passion for investment analysis and supporting clients to achieve their goals. I look forward to expanding my knowledge of financial advisory, further honing my skills to their fullest.
Outside of work, I love cooking, given my family has a long history of catering I love to experiment and make different dishes from around the world! I also love to write short fiction stories and draw!
Stephen Coleman
Client Partner
I am a Senior Client Partner based in Manchester and a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute For Securities & Investment. In March 2019 I was named in the PAM top 40 under 40, which recognises rising talent within the UK Wealth Management Industry.
I love that my role offers me the opportunity to assist wealthy individuals and their families with both their wealth planning and investment needs. I am a firm believer in putting the right team of people around the client to help achieve their financial objectives and goals, whether that be internally with fellow members of the Artorius Group or externally with fellow professional advisors.
Prior to joining Artorius in October 2016 I spent 11 years working as a Senior Client Advisor for Credit Suisse, initially in London before moving back to my native North West to join the Manchester Team.
Away from the office I enjoy spending time with my Wife and two young Children. I will happily watch most competitive sports live or on the TV but am most passionate about football (Liverpool FC) and golf (maintaining a single figure handicap is hard with two children!)
Vanda Cox
Business Development Director
I am Business Development Director at Artorius. My career in financial services has spanned the breadth of independent financial advice through to corporate pension and employee benefit services, management, and business development and strategy.
My role at Artorius is highly rewarding as it enables me to work with both individuals and companies to help them identify their specific financial planning needs and objectives, and ensure they are introduced to the appropriate specialists and teams within Artorius that will enable them to achieve their goals.
I was a Board director of PIFC Consulting for five years, before joining UBS Wealth Management in London. At UBS, I set up and managed a group pension and benefits advisory team and won corporate clients across a range of business sectors, including professional services, IT, retail, hotels, pharmaceuticals, and media. This team and all the clients later followed me to Broadstone when UBS decided to exit this (non-core) business - enabling me to merge it with the pre-existing Broadstone team and grow the client base and revenues over a five-year period as a Board Director, before joining EQ Investors as a Director.
In my spare time I enjoy long country walks, running, arthouse cinema and reading.
Aiden Curtis
Client Manager
I joined Artorius in April 2022 as a Client Manager working out of the Manchester office.
I began my career at an accountants almost 10 years ago before making the switch to an IFA after 14 months. I quickly progressed through the company from the Office Junior to Business Support and finally the Team Leader of the administration staff.
My previous experience is within the Personal Injury & Court of Protection sector as well as advice for Private Wealth clients.
Outside of work I have a keen interest in sports; mainly, football, cricket, and snooker. I’m an avid player of the latter two and, for my sins, support Manchester United for the former.
Max Di Lieto
Client Manager
Prior to joining Artorius as a Client Manager, I spent nearly 5 years at UBS. I joined UBS as an apprentice and worked my way up the ladder, supporting clients with the day-to-day management of their accounts.
I enjoy being part of a team which provides a well-rounded, holistic service to clients, and like ensuring that their future needs are considered and catered for. Alongside our Client Partners, I strive to give clients the best service possible, and put them at the centre of our business.
Outside of work I enjoy being on and around a football pitch, whether that be refereeing, coaching, or watching either Arsenal or Gli Azzurri (when they qualify for major competitions…). I am also an avid fan of Formula 1 and cricket.
Paul Fletcher
Client Partner
I specialise in working with self-made entrepreneurs, multi-generational family wealth and business owners. I provide bespoke wealth planning advice and investment solutions to my clients and their families. Whilst experienced, I enjoy a new challenge and each day brings that here at Artorius. My clients need to have confidence and trust in what we are here to offer, and I believe this is something I can deliver on. I thoroughly enjoy spending time with all my clients and becoming their trusted advisor on all financial matters.
Previously, I worked at RBS and Barclays Private Banking. I am married with a young family, when not travelling you will find me at the football or playing golf.
I am a Chartered Wealth Manager with the Chartered Institute for securities and Investment.
Olivia Forrest
Graduate Trainee
I joined Artorius as a Graduate Trainee in August 2022 following my graduation from The University of Manchester, where I studied BSc (Hons) International Business, Finance and Economics. Studying across three disciplines gave me a fantastic grounding for a career in Financial Services and presented several challenges along the way, from Corporate Finance IPO valuations to Economic analysis.
My role as a Graduate Trainee within Artorius will allow me to develop my professional understanding and industry-specific knowledge, as well as work closely with the Midlands Team to provide an excellent service to our clients. I am also looking forward to completing my professional examinations which will complement my undergraduate studies, helping my own development and contributions to the wider team.
Prior to joining Artorius, I completed both a Professional Placement Year with Burnley FC, integrated into my studies, and a summer internship with Handelsbanken. Although vastly different, both have been fundamental to my achievements in and out of education. The former, providing an in-depth business-oriented experience, whilst the latter confirmed my desires to work in the Financial Services Industry.
Outside of work, I spend my time playing various instruments or with family, friends and our Labradors back at home in the Ribble Valley. Alongside this, I make time for venturing to new places, with Iceland and Barbados next up on the list!
James Goddard
Client Partner
Prior to joining Artorius, I have spent nearly 20 years within wealth management across Citi, Barclays and UBS. Over this time, I feel extremely fortunate to have partnered with my clients, their families and businesses, by working across a diverse range of financial solutions from the vanilla to complex investment banking/asset management. After nearly two decades in large financial institutions, I now look forward to providing genuinely agnostic client led advice. The strength and breadth of Artorius allows me to truly focus on my clients’ bespoke needs, whilst still being able to implement global multi-asset class and debt solutions across the leading private banks.
Over the last five years I have found a specialism partnering with business owners & entrepreneurs, and sports & entertainment professionals through their journey. I feel very strongly that as a financial partner we should be helping clients when they need it - whether that is as a sounding board through the early days, supporting you through tough times, or advising and implementing a business sale.
Away from the office my wife and I try to keep up with our three young boys. We are very fortunate to live in rural Hertfordshire where our family owns an equestrian centre, so my weekends involve fencing and slightly less glamorous spreadsheets! Any remaining time I have I try to keep fit, enjoy listening to music and running after my three dogs.

I really enjoy working alongside such a wealth of knowledge within the Artorius team and particularly the alternative investment space. I hold the CISI’s Level 4 Investment Advice Diploma and I’m currently working towards becoming a Chartered Financial Planner.
Outside of work I’m a keen cyclist, switching between the mountain and the road, and also a keen skier and traveller. I enjoy keeping fit and also like to see myself as a bit of a handyman, renovating my last two properties.

Paul Hutchinson

I am Client Manager based in Nottingham with 11 years’ experience in the financial services. I feel privileged to work at Artorius and share their ethos of putting the client first whilst delivering an exceptional service.
As a Client Manager, I work closely with Client Partner’s. Working holistically, we ensure our clients financial needs are met and they receive the best service and advice possible. The most enjoyable part of my role is getting to know clients and building strong relationships based on trust and integrity.
I specialise in looking after high net worth individuals and their families, supporting them reach their financial goals. To make this possible, I put the client at the heart of the work I do and use my financial knowledge and experience to help them make important decisions with their wealth. I hold an Investment Advice Diploma and International Certificate in Wealth Management through the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI).
Prior to Artorius, I worked at an IFA firm based in West Bridgford, Nottingham as a Paraplanner. However, most of my 11 years in the industry were spent at Coutts supporting a team of Wealth Managers and their clients. I also did similar role NatWest Private Banking at the start of my career.
Away from the office, I enjoy spending time with my fiancé, young daughter and friends eating out and going on sunny holidays. All my other spare time is spent in either the garden or doing my never-ending list of jobs I am given for around the house!
Ellie McCourt-Clarke
Client Manager
I began my career in financial services here at Artorius in September 2020 as a Graduate Trainee, straight from University where I read History at the University of Oxford. In January 2022, I was promoted to Client Manager, a role which requires agile thinking and fresh perspective for our clients individual needs. Artorius is a disruptor to the financial services industry, putting wealth planning at the core and centre of everything we do with no ties, products to sell, or a conflicted advice process- everything is personal yet professional.
In September 2022 I completed my Chartered Insurance Institute Level 4 Diploma and remain committed to my ambitions to become a Chartered Financial Planner by beginning my Level 6 Advanced Diploma exams. My studies and examinations complement my day-to-day role by deepening my technical knowledge and improving my ability to perform to the highest standards for our clients, thus further entrenching the Artorius values.
Recently, I have moved to the Artorius London Office, but continue to work with a Manchester team. The Artorius hybrid model is, and continues to be, incredibly supportive of this personal move and allows my relationship with my Manchester team to remain robust. The culture at Artorius encourages simultaneous career and personal growth and I am so grateful to work for a company that puts its staff, and clients, first.
Outside of work I am a dedicated long-distance runner with a particular goal of completing the Abbot World Six Major Marathon Series. I also enjoy (most of the time!) following my lifelong team Liverpool Football Club!
James Mooney
Client Manager
I joined Artorius in September 2022 as a Client Manager based in the Manchester office.
I’ve worked in financial services for over 7 years previously working for Evelyn Partners for 5 years as a senior associate & Chase de Vere as an administrator. I enjoy working with wealth planners to ensure the best possible plan for our client’s needs and helping clients achieve their financial goals while delivering excellent customer service.
Outside of work I spend lots of time with my partner going to the theatre and enjoying meals out which is easily done living in the city Centre, I am also a Manchester City fan and have been my whole life and not just the successful times.
Richard Page
Client Manager
Further to graduating Law, seemingly another lifetime ago, I am a Chartered Fellow of the Institute for Securities and Investments; having obtained the Private Client Investment Advice & Management Certificate, Investment Advice Diploma and the Diploma in Financial planning, plus a few others along the way.
In joining the team, I have now stepped up into the specialist wealth management arena in which Artorius operates and thrives. Prior to joining Artorius as Client Manager, for near on a decade I had been employed exclusively in the private banking sector, working with high net worth individuals and related entities. Notably positions with Barclays Wealth and most recently EFG Private Bank. Prior to this I occupied various operational roles within investment managers and investment platforms; consequently I have the benefit of knowledge and experience in the mechanics of all elements of wealth management and private banking processes, from back office through to front.
I have now been with my wife longer than I have been without her and together, despite their reluctance to stay that way, we have two young daughters. Time out of the office is divided between ferrying offspring to an ever-increasing number of clubs and, fixing a multitude of errors resulting from an ill-informed belief held that there isn’t a DIY job that should not be attempted
Helena Pratt
Client Partner
Before joining Artorius as a client partner, I spent 5 years at UBS and prior to this I started my career at Rathbones as a graduate. My focus is always to build strong and trusted relationships with my clients, their families and their other advisers to ensure we structure their wealth appropriately. I love working closely with my clients to develop bespoke solutions to solve their individual challenges and needs. What I think is so special about Artorius is that we are genuinely client-centric and see ourselves as an agnostic financial partner, which means that our only goal is whole heartedly providing the best advice to our clients. We have a vast reach across services and investment opportunities, and I like that I can leverage our network for the benefit of my clients.
Outside of work I enjoy keeping fit at the gym or playing tennis. To combine my interests in sport and philanthropy, I am a Trustee for a lacrosse charity. I also like going to art exhibitions and fairs and am a keen traveller.
Ben Roberts
Client Partner
I have been working in investment management for over 20 years, encompassing various roles within both a boutique firm and across some of the national wealth managers.
More recently, my focus has been on the client journey, establishing myself as the trusted adviser for all of their wealth and financing requirements. My clients are predominantly business owners and serial entrepreneurs, many of whom have complex requirements and who need a pragmatic approach to their finances. An increasing area of my advice is to resident non-domiciled clients, structuring their affairs as appropriate.
It was an easy decision to join the Artorius family. Independently owned and with no internal products to push, the team is purely focused on the right outcomes for the client. The quality of personnel is of the highest calibre and being able to offer services such as credit and lending and private market access, differentiates us from many of the larger players in the market.
Outside of work, two small children at home keep me busy. I enjoy the regional restaurant scene and am determined to gradually improve my golfing skills.
I am a Chartered Wealth Manager (level 7 qualified) and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment.
Suzanne Royle
Client Manager
I joined Artorius in August 2022 as a Client Manager, based in the Manchester office.
I have over 25 years’ experience working in the Financial Services sector.
Prior to joining Artorius I spent 12 years working as the Paraplanner Manager for a niche IFA practice who specialise in personal injury / clinical negligence and Court of Protection – pre and post settlement.
I am an Associate of The Chartered Insurance Institute and hold the Certificate and Diploma in Financial Planning, together with the Advanced Diploma in Insurance.
When I am away from the office, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I am fond of countryside walks with the dog and try to keep fit at the gym.
Sarah Sheppard
Client Manager
I joined Artorius in April 2022 as a Client Manager based in the Manchester office.
Prior to joining Artorius, I was a paraplanner for an independent financial advice firm in Saddleworth where I gained the CII Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning.
My role at Artorius is to work with our Client Partners to deliver bespoke solutions and provide exceptional service to our clients to help them achieve their goals.
When I’m not at work I enjoy running and achieved a long term ambition of completing the London Marathon in October 2021. I also like swimming and walking, especially with friends. Most of my free time, however, is spent with my husband and two teenage daughters who frequently employ me in my other role as Mum’s Taxi.
Kevin Shone
Client Partner
30+ years in Wealth Management – what’s that all about? For a lad from Wigan the journey through Managing Director positions at Coutts, Goldman Sachs & Barclays has been almost surreal, until the adventure of helping to build Artorius was a fork in the road. The change in direction to a role that is purely on the side of the client has been frightening, challenging, engaging and rewarding in equal measure! No more “safety blanket” of working inside a huge organisation, but the wonderful freedom to think nothing other than “what is right for our clients?”. No sales targets, promotions, incentives or institutional bias – all of the conflicts of interest that Artorius was set up to eradicate. Being amongst a team that has nothing to “sell” but their advice, openness, trust and energy was always the goal, and to see the career journey reach that strived for destination is a delight.
The personal journey has also, thankfully, reached a delightful place – living in the Peak District with my wife & 4 kids (anybody with 4 kids knows that the section for “hobbies” is pretty much filled in advance, but still darting around a 5-a-side football pitch whenever possible!).
My focus at Artorius continues to be the management of multi-generational planning – how to asset allocate, control and govern assets across generations such that families see their wealth working for them not against them.
Stephen Swift
Client Partner
I’ve been at Artorius since inception, initially combining the roles of client partner and investment team member. More recently I’ve stepped down from the latter to focus exclusively on looking after my clients. I continue to serve on the Artorius Alternative Investment Committee, with a particular interest in private companies.
Before getting involved in wealth management I worked for twenty-five years in institutional equity sales and research, specialising for several years in the technology sector.
Away from work, I have a keen interest in the arts, especially music. My degree was in Modern Languages and History of Art and I played trumpet in the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain. I sit on the Finance Committees of two important musical charities and spend as much time as I can with my family at our house on the marshes outside Aldeburgh.
Dee Thompson
Client Manager
I have worked in Financial Services all my working life , having held positions with Coutts, UBS, & Brown Shipley. I have experience in banking, credit, financial planning and investments and hold the Financial Planning Certificate.
I have always had a passion to be part of a wealth management team and working alongside trusted advisors who focus on delivering exceptional service. I enjoy building relationships with clients and helping them to achieve their goals.
Kate Thurman
Wealth Planning Partner
I believe that the role of the Wealth Planner is to give clients and their families confidence that their wealth will endure and have a meaningful impact not only on their lives, but beyond. This is only possible by building strong relationships and developing a deep understanding of what is important to them, and this is what I enjoy most about my role.
Having started my career in Investment Management, for the last 10 years I have specialised in Wealth Planning with a particular passion for pensions. I have worked within large Private Banks such as Barclays Wealth, Brown Shipley and Coutts and most recently as an Independent Financial Advisor for Pannells Financial Planning.
I am a Chartered Financial Planner and member of the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment.
Outside of working hours I am a keen trail runner, having completed races across the UK and Europe - combining my love of hills and mountains with a wanderlust for new places.
Clare Wakeling
Client Service Manager
I joined Artorius in 2019 as a Client Manager and I’m delighted with my promotion to Client Service Manager. My new role allows me to combine my passion for coaching and mentoring with my client facing role, ensuring we deliver a consistently high level of service for all clients.
With over 30 years' experience in the Private Banking industry, I thrive on delivering exceptional client service which is at the core of everything I do - I love finding solutions and delivering them from start to finish. Having worked at Coutts, St James's Place and Kleinwort Hambros, I relish how Artorius brings a different dimension to wealth management; building solutions around the clients and their families and putting them at the heart of everything we do.
Outside of work, I am compiling a list of new hobbies and interests now that I have an ‘empty nest’, with both daughters forging their own independent lives. The Wine Club should balance nicely with the gym membership but I’m yet to be convinced by my husband’s suggestion of pottery making classes……
Mark Widdup
Client Partner
I started my career in banking at the age of 16 with Barclays because I figured out it was the only way I could continue to study for professional qualifications and get paid. During my 15 years there I progressed through retail, small business and corporate before finding my natural resting place in wealth management. I liked the idea of becoming the trusted advisor to wealthy families and decided to make this my speciality. In an effort to develop my skills as far as I possibly could, I embarked on a journey that saw me spend 4 years at Merrill Lynch and 15 years at Credit Suisse before joining Artorius in 2016. During this period, I honed my skills in private banking, investment banking and most importantly of all, in the live environment dealing with complex wealthy families.
For almost 25 years of my career I was lucky to work with Richard Algar, the founder of Artorius and we regularly mused about what clients were actually looking for from the wealth management industry. We worked out it wasn’t rocket science, they simply wanted a trusted advisor who could manage their affairs without the conflict created by corporate targets and strategy shifts. Most importantly, they wanted experienced individuals with high levels of emotional intelligence in addition to the technical product knowledge regularly flaunted by our industry, this cemented my move to Artorius.
Outside of work I am married with two grown up daughters. I’ve been a competitive cyclist since the age of 12 and still enjoy my time on the bike in the Yorkshire Dales. Whilst at Credit Suisse, I was heavily involved in their classic car program and this spawned a new passion for me which has seen me take part in classic rallies around the UK and Europe in my trusty old car.
Jordan Williams
Client Partner
I am a Client Partner at Artorius where I look after a number of wealthy families based both in the UK and overseas. I manage and oversee not just their entire financial affairs, but also assist with the family’s lifestyle needs. I work with my clients to understand their long-term objectives in order to develop, implement and manage an appropriate wealth management strategy to meet their desired outcomes, which will typically span multiple generations.
Key to my role is providing continuous oversight and monitoring across the family’s entire wealth providing them with transparency and visibility over their affairs, allowing for effective decision making and good governance, working in collaboration with their Trustees, Lawyers, Accountants and other professional advisors.
Whilst I thoroughly enjoy the day job, I do try and spend as much time with my wife, three children and dog, preferably outdoors, and keeping fit running. I try to play and watch as much sport as possible whilst continually trying to convince my kids that Spurs will win a trophy one day!
Phil Carroll
Head of Alternatives
Before joining Artorius in January 2019 as the Alternatives Proposition Officer, I started my career in financial services when I qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2004. Then after 5 years auditing companies across numerous sectors and sizes I made the move into equity research at Shore Capital, a listed full service mid-cap investment banking company. My role at Artorius is really exciting at it involves meeting and assessing all sorts of alternative investment opportunities for our clients from small EIS companies to multi-billion dollar private equity funds. Whilst at Shore Capital I was an awarding winning analyst and worked on a number of business areas including the Speciality Financials and Consumer sectors, carrying out investment analysis on listed companies and also businesses seeking to list.
Outside of work, I am a keen amateur musician being principal trumpet of the Chester Philharmonic Orchestra. I also love sport in general with participation now being mainly as a slow runner on roads and mountain trails. I am also a life-long supporter of Liverpool FC and Widnes Vikings.
Rachael Faint
Portfolio Analyst
I returned to Artorius upon completion of my first-class undergraduate degree in Business and Finance as part of the 2020 cohort. I first joined Artorius as an investment intern in 2018 and was introduced to the diverse world of wealth management.
I believe my analytical and logical skills alongside a keen interest in finance and desire to develop professionally will complement the investment team. Having completed the Investment Management Certificate, I aspire to continue with professional qualifications to further develop my knowledge and ability to succeed in my role.
Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my loved ones, long walks in the rural countryside and trying out new recipes in the kitchen.
Yuval Peshchanitsky
Portfolio Analyst
I’m a Portfolio Analyst here at Artorius with over 4 years experience in the industry, previously working at Quilter Cheviot. I graduated from the University of Manchester in 2017 studying Economics and Development Studies and more recently have completed my Investment Management Certificate from the CFA.
I find the multi-faceted investment and wealth management industry remarkably interesting and is one I am thrilled to be a part of. I enjoy diving into spreadsheets, working with enthusiastic people and using analysis to tackle complex issues in whatever scenario I am presented with. I am passionate about delivering a first class service and firmly believe the client comes first, a view that importantly, is congruent with Artorius’ values.
Outside of work, I love all things music and sport, with a particular passion for all things football. Outside of that I enjoy reading a good book and travelling to new places.
Gareth Thomas
Head of Investment Management
I am Head of Investment Management, based in London with over 20 years’ experience in the industry. My role at Artorius allows me to combine my expertise in investment research and portfolio management to help achieve the investment goals of our clients through discretionary and advisory offerings. I am lucky that in my role I get to assess a wide range of interesting investment ideas and be challenged intellectually on a daily basis.
Before joining Artorius, I spent 12 years at UBS Wealth Management in several senior investment roles, most recently as Head of Investment Content UK and Head of Portfolio Management UK. Prior to UBS I worked at HSBC Global Asset Management and Nelson Money Managers.
Outside of work, I love spending time with my wife and two young daughters. Beyond family I love to travel and I am a passionate fan of Welsh rugby.
Nehemiah White
Family Office Analyst
I joined Artorius as a graduate trainee on completion of my postgraduate degree, having studied financial economics, before progressing onto my current role as a Family Office Analyst. Financial analysis was a fundamental component of my educational experience and gave me a plethora of transferable skills that I hope will aid my career in finance. In particular my education in econometric methods gives me the ability to understand and interpret macroeconomic trends which will greatly benefit client needs and my future endeavours in wealth management.
Having progressed from an investment banking focussed internship, I gained a particular interest in the meticulous art of portfolio analysis that will be perpetuated with my role at Artorius. In addition to the experience gained at Artorius and previous internships, my current endeavours include studying towards the CFA Level I qualification.
Away from the numbers, my main interest has been football since I was young, be it playing, watching or talking! Alongside this I am particularly fond of travelling whenever possible, darting off in any window of opportunity that opens itself.
Josh Young
Portfolio Manager
I’m a Client Portfolio Analyst based in Manchester with 11 years’ experience in the industry. I previously worked at Tees Financial and Tilney in their Cambridge office. I am happiest when working on complicated Excel spreadsheets and trying to add that little bit extra for clients. I hold the CISI’s Level 6 Certificate in Private Client Investment Advice & Management and I’m currently working towards my Chartered Wealth Manager Qualification.
Away from the office I’m a keen flatwater kayaker and triathlete, and have competed at a national level as well as completing the 125-mile Devizes to Westminster race. You can find me most weekends out exploring the North West either on a bike or with my dog.
Rebecca Critchley
Compliance Manager
Having spent my entire working career in financial services since graduating (over 20 years!) I joined Artorius in August 2021.
Each role I have done over that time has been varied and I think I can say that I have pretty much done it all. From opening the post as a graduate trainee to a brief stint as a financial adviser, through to paraplanner, office manager, and consultant before specialising in compliance and operations. I am qualified as a Chartered Financial Planner and also hold the Diploma in Governance Risk and Compliance from the International Compliance Association.
Compliance to me is all about the client. Clients sit at the heart of any good financial services business and their needs comes first. I have been lucky to work in companies that share this philosophy, it makes my job far simpler! When I’m not at work studying rules and regulations, I am at home attempting to get my two girls to follow the rules. When I have given up on that I like to be outside walking, cycling or running or enjoying live music and festivals.

I’m also experienced in forecasting and budget planning and take a strategic approach to any projects I’m working on.
I’m excited to bring my commercial and people centric view to Artorius and provide support to the Operations team within the Office Management function.
As a naturally curious and adventurous person, I love to explore the world through travel, books and food. I enjoy taking on other challenges like running a marathon or learning a new language and feel my best after an energising yoga session or a good night’s sleep.
Joao Lourenco

I have spent my life mostly around computers. I was consistently curious about what technology could do and was astonished at how helpful it can become for humanity.
I have joined Artorius as a Data Analyst and to support the IT operations team. I'm passionate about software development and system automation and will be helping with the development of better systems for all users and clients.
I have worked in a variety of industries throughout my professional career, but the most predominant was in the Health sector for an entrepreneurial company in London, where I have had the opportunity to be a Data Analyst and a Project Manager during my 4 years with them.
I do enjoy learning and will continuously do it. Searching for new topics of interest and obtaining new certifications to widen my knowledge is kind of a hobby at times.
